About Us

Sue Older is like many other moms, the proud mom of Sadie (age 3) & Deylan (age 6).  The difference is she is also the proud founder of SadieDey's Café. The café’s name inspires Sue daily.  Often asked where she came up with a place like this she answers, “necessity is the mother of invention.” She needed a Sadiedey's Cafe. Unable to get to the gymboree classes on time, she longed for a comfy couch, not a small stool to sit on after just giving birth.   She craved yummy healthy-not processed-food and to meet other moms like herself.  And what new Mom doesn’t need a good strong cup of coffee?  Plus, she wanted them all in the same place!

She wanted it ALL and so did all her friends. So where was this fabulous escape? Well, it was in her head, her heart and now  at 4210 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, CA. Since its original birth as tumble & tea, the cafe has evolved, learned and adapted to what customers have asked for and commented on.  Sue values all feedback to continuously meet and exceed customer expectations.
